Lynn Wolf

Lynn brings over 35 years of experience in the private and public sectors as a teacher, assistant elementary principal and principal in both small and large North Dakota school districts. The perspective that Lynn brings to the coaching experience will undoubtedly be able to help guide you through the day-to-day challenges and also the statewide battles that leaders face.  Lynn has most recently served as a Teacher Supervisor for the University of Mary and also spent the last legislative session clerking for the Senate Education Committee. Lynn has been honors such as the Rolla Jaycees Outstanding Young Teacher (1977) and the ND National Distinguished Principal in 2015.

In 2010, he was asked to open Sunrise Elementary, a brand new K-5 school consisting of students from all over the district and beyond. Wolf considers the opening of Sunrise to be one of his greatest accomplishments. By working with parents, staff, and community, Wolf made sure that Sunrise was a welcoming, inspiring place from the very beginning. “The ease at which he tackled this daunting task is proof of his passion and strong belief system for education,” says fellow principal Michelle Svihovec. During his time at Sunrise, Wolf has also implemented effective Professional Learning Communities, spending one day a week meeting with each community and devoting another to focused, in-depth problem solving. Currently, Wolf is engaged in an ongoing effort to shift from traditional grading to standards-based reporting. He has developed a highly-involved PTO which hosts Back-to-School tailgating parties, Winterfests, and more.

Nadine Butts

Nadine Butts has more than 25 years of professional experience in North Dakota and Minnesota public education. She has served as a middle and high school teacher, advisor, head coach, counselor and high school administration. Nadine focuses on strength based learning. This allows individualized learning and developing creative systems for success. Nadine’s most recent accomplishments have been building and developing the innovative Legacy High School in Bismarck, ND. 

Nadine views being an educator and working for children as the most noble calling in the world. Creating, developing, and supporting systems for youth to be all they are created to be is Nadine’s calling at this phase in her career. The staff that have worked with Nadine at Legacy High School say “Nadine has a heart for students and a head for data. She is a learner for us and with us.”  Nadine and her husband Steve, live in Bismarck and have three children, Lucas, Anika, and Marcus. When not found at one of their children’s activities, they can be found entertaining family and friends at their lake home at Lake Sakakawea.

Tom

Tom Schmidt

A career long educator, Tom Schmidt spent 17 years teaching and the last 8 years as a high school principal. As the 1st Principal of Legacy High School, Tom was able to build, create and develop a high school from the ground up. Hiring over 100 teachers and support staff while simultaneously creating flex mod scheduling, 1:1 and Project Base Learning, Tom has a wealth of knowledge to share with educators. 

Tom has mentored educators from schools varying in a range of sizes and demographics and works to empower all those he works with. Schools from across the US and Canada have visited Tom and Legacy High School. Tom currently sits on the National Merit Scholarship Corporations Advisory Board and has been a presenter at the ND Governors Summit on Education and The National Learning Forward Conference.
